先週後半は上海へ行っていた。
変化の激しい中国の中でも、最も
変化のスピードが激しいのが上海だろう。
その上海からグリーンな動きが
盛り上がりつつあることを、
今回の訪問で強く感じた。
Live Earth Shanghai2007が
つい先日開催され、2009年には
上海から４５kmぐらいの島に
世界初のサステーナブル・エコシティー
が誕生するという。
that's上海版、7月号が特集で
このエコシティーを紹介していたが、
風力や波の力の発電を利用することで、
CO2を全く出さない町を目指すそうだ。
上海ではないが、
来年は北京オリンピックが開催される。
こちらも「緑のオリンピック」にしよう
と現地のＮＧＯが呼びかけているそうだ。
2010年には上海万博がある。
こちらもきっと、エコを
意識した万博になることだろう。
Green China、中国は緑になる。
なんとなく、この先3年ぐらいで
大きく中国がエコシフトするように
感じられてきた。
いや、地球規模で考えると、
世界最大の人口を抱える中国は
そうならなければならないし、
そうなれるチャンスや雰囲気が
あることを感じた。
